1. Information we collect
We collect information you provide, including your name, email address, password, role, institution, department, biography, profile image, and account preferences.
When you contribute to ResearchUSA, we may also collect manuscript files and metadata, author details, reviews, volunteer applications, career applications, messages, and related contact information.
We may automatically receive basic technical information needed to operate and protect the service, such as browser and device information, IP address, request logs, session data, and interactions with platform features.
2. How we use information
We use information to create and secure accounts, provide platform features, process submissions and applications, administer peer review, publish approved research, respond to support requests, measure platform performance, and prevent misuse.
Public research records may display information intentionally associated with a publication, such as its title, abstract, author names, institutional affiliations, subject category, and publication date.
3. Cookies and sessions
ResearchUSA uses cookies or similar storage where necessary to keep you signed in, maintain security, and remember essential service state. Your browser can block cookies, but account features may then stop working correctly.
4. When information is shared
We may share information with service providers that host, secure, maintain, or support the platform; with reviewers and administrators as needed to evaluate submissions; or when required to comply with law and protect users, the public, or ResearchUSA.
We do not represent that private account information is sold. Information you choose to publish or include in a public research record will be visible to others.
5. Retention and security
We retain information for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, preserve scholarly records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal obligations. Retention periods can differ by record type.
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no online system can guarantee absolute security.
6. Your choices
You may update available profile information through your account. You may also contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of personal information, subject to identity verification and any legal, security, or scholarly-record obligations.
7. Children and international users
The service is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate authorization, contact us. If you access ResearchUSA from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States.
8. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the platform evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the date above and, when appropriate, an additional notice.
Questions or privacy requests can be sent through our contact page or to [email protected].
